Hi, I have worked in the jewellery industry for nearly 40 years making, repairing, and studying manufacturing techniques for jewellery.I have worked for myself most of my working life. My wife, Maggie, and I run a small jewellers shop in Mornington Victoria, Australia, with help from an old friend, Chris. Chris runs the shop on a day to day basis, and I make and repair jewellery in my home workshop. I have always had an interest in teaching jewellery making, and have run private classes in the past. I believe that there should be no such thing as trade secrets, knowledge should be shared. In the past I have made many of my own tools, or adapted tools to suit a particular job. One of my latest designs is proving to be very worthwhile, and I have just completed a small production run. This is a very versatile third hand kit based on magnetic elbow joints. The kit contains 2 holding units and can accurately hold two components together for hands free soldering. It's a pleasure to use and great benefit to those of us whose hands are no longer as steady as they used to be. I look forward to sharing pictures and video of this unit. Thanks, Allan.
