Do you use them in your store?
In the past I have used little printed wishlists that a customer
could fill out and 'let' someone find. Results were mediocre.
This year I plan on doing it differently. I make note of who likes
what. With desktop publishing so easy I'll send out postcards
customized to the individual admirer with a photo of the very piece
she likes, among alternatives I think appropriate. Maybe I'll do a
discreet discount on it too, undecided yet.
Cost would be quite moderate, postage and some time. If I sell even
just one or two higher end pieces that I might not have otherwise,
it seems worth it to me. If anyone else wants to try this, let's
compare notes after the holidays.
