Would like some advice on ruby drops

Hello All,

I know there are some experts in this group so I would like some
advice if possible.

I have a few ruby drops (top drilled, approx 45ct. each, opaque)
which I have had set by a jeweler by putting an 18K gold cap/cone on
top with a bail.

My first question is do you recommend hanging them on an 18k gold
chain, or, for a more modern look, on a black leather cord with gold
clasp. Could you recommed an online shop where I could buy these?

My second question is, how much do you think a ruby drop like I
described above is worth?

Hi Isa,

I’ve had good experience buying chain by the foot at Rio Grande

They also sell other findings.

The price for Ruby varies a lot and depends on a variety of factors
that would require the stones to be seen by an expert in person. I
would take them to a reputable jeweller that has a Graduate
Gemologist on site and ask their opinion. They may charge you a
small fee, but may do it as a courtesy for you.
