[Workshop] The Society For Midwest Metalsmiths

The Society For Midwest Metalsmiths (SMM) St.Louis, Mo, announces
two spring workshops. The workshops are held on Saturday and Sunday
in the metal arts studio, Maryville University, Chesterfield, Mo.

Non-members are welcome to apply for a place in these workshops.

The first workshop on “Clasps and Hinges” will be given on 17 & 18
March 2007. The workshop will be taught by Dan Haga a very
experienced silversmith and teacher from Charlotte, NC. The cost of
the workshop is $200 for members and $230 for non-members.
Non-members taking the workshop will be given a one year membership
to the SMM.

The second workshop on “Corrugation or Fold Forming” will be given
on 21 & 22 April 2007. The workshop will be taught be Trish McAleer
who has written a book and taught many workshops on this subject.
The cost of this workshop is $275, including a materials kit fee of
$25, for members and $305 for non-members. Non-members will be given
a one year membership to the SMM.

There are two hotels adjacent to the Maryville University campus for
people coming from out of town. It may also be possible for out of
town participants to stay with SMM members.

Non-members are encouraged to apply for these workshops. Acceptance
for the workshops is based upon the date of application reciept.

The workshops are limited to 16 people.

Applications and check must be received by 1 FEBRUARY 2007 to be
enrolled for either workshop.
