[Workshop]Texturing Hollow-Formed Metal Clay

Linda Kaye-Moses’ metal clay workshop at IS 183; Art School of the
Berkshires still has a few spaces left. The workshop will run
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 14,15, 16.

Course Title: Texturing Hollow-Formed Metal Clay

Course Description: Explore the use of fine (pure) silver metal clay
and it’s ability to accept texture. Using Precious Metal Clay (PMC3),
and the Linda Kaye-Moses Doming Plates, make wearable hollow objects
with both subtle and deep textures. We will create our own original
textures, including all the following (time permitting): stamped
copper printing plates, carved polymer plates, photopolymer plates,
and microfolded plates.

A tools and equipment list will be furnished upon registering for
the class and all materials, including polishing/finishing supplies
will be available. Experience in jewelrymaking or enameling is not
required for this class, where the only limit is imagination and the
only prerequisite is enthusiasm. Beginners will receive the personal
attention that will help them work with the PMC, though some
experience with Precious Metal Clay will be helpful.

Techniques will be presented through a series of simple projects and
exercises designed to help bring your personal concept into a
material form.
