The Revere Academy will offer a beginning CAD class as part of its
Summer/Fall 2014 Open Session from September 1-5, 2014. This 5-day
class introduces the basic tools and functions of 3DESIGN, a very
popular CAD program for jewelers. Participants learn how to design
original jewelry projects and then create photorealistic pictures,
which are perfect for website display, catalog and professional
portfolios. The CAD-created designs are printable into 3D models for
lost wax casting. The materials kit fee includes one castable printed
model created from the student’s CAD file and a student license for
3DESIGN CAD, good for three months. The license will be renewed for
three additional three months at no additional cost for students who
sign up for the advanced CAD class in the Spring 2015 Open Session.
Students must provide their own laptop (PC or Mac.)

Revere faculty member, Vasken Tanielian, will teach the class. Vasken
grew up in Paris, France, where he apprenticed under master jewelers.
Vasken has spent his career as a fine jeweler, designer and educator.
He is one of the few classically trained goldsmiths who is also
expert at CAD-CAM.
