[Workshop] Setting class in Toledo, OH

Dear All
b"h

I’m off next week to do a setting class to a “full house” April
24-26
. Ten students have signed up and the tight schedule is to
demonstrate in finer notes of Bezel, Channel, Princess, Flush/Gypsy
and Engagement settings.
In these following three days, I will be
training over 30 hours of academics and as well as practical. There
will be stories from my bench setting life, including many little
ideas to help and assist the beginner - intermediate level
jeweller…if anyone, or group is interested in this very practial
form of teaching contact me at [gerrylewy18 at gmail dot com] This
posting is not to solicit, but only to inform…Gerry!

Dear all

Those who didn’t make it to the Toledo setting class missed out on
lots of good teachings. The class I was lecturing made in 3 DAYS
well over 30 pages of setting notes. It was complete joy for me to
have them learn something very common in our setting profession.
Gypsy/Flush setting, Bezel Setting, Channel Setting, 4 and 6 claw
Engagement mounts, and the very easy Princess Setting.

In those 3 days, I pulled them up from basic fabricators to well into
the advanced setting levels. At the end of the day we were all very
exhausted from the “climbing on the learning ladder”. I supplied
uniform setting tools and silver rings for them to start their new
level in fabricating their “objects of art”. They saw my diagrams
and as well my silver rings being set. Quite a task!!!

I was cordially received by Debra Hoffmaster and the rest of the
Toledo group. To Kathy, I wish to say a humbled thank you for
everything by offering your home while I was in your city.
Thanks,eh!

Gerry Lewy!
