[Workshop] [Pasadena] Working with Pewter

MASSC is offering a Pewter workshop with Lisa Slovis Mandel on
November 13th & 14th, 2010. Cost of the workshop for members is $155
(this includes a $50 materials fee - metal, flux & solder). Cost of
the workshop for non-members is $180 (also includes a $50 materials
fee). The workshop will take place at Pasadena City College from 9 to
5 daily.

You will learn to form, fuse, solder and finish a vessel. Since
Pewter work softens instead of work hardening, it is much easier to
work with than other metals. You will also cast an ingot and use that
to form a utensil. Additional casting will include foil casting for
settings and mold casting to make buttons, charms, small pendants and
links for neckpieces. Lisa will be bringing her recently published
Lark book, Pewter Studio, to the workshop. If you’re interested in
seeing more of her work go to http://lisaslovis.com/statement.html.

There are still places available in the workshop. If you’re
interested or have any questions, please contact Randi at
310-831-2117 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. or email [artizen7 at gmail
dot com] This will be a fun workshop and Lisa is an outstanding
presenter!
