[Workshop] [NC] Orion Pulse Arc Welder

Making Jewelry Magic with the Orion Pulse Arc Welders SNAG sponsored
Welding Workshop

This September the Southern Highland Craft Guild will be working
with the Mountain Metalsmiths School of Jewelry & Lapidary at the
Folk Art Center in Asheville, NC to host the SECOND National
OrionPulse Arc Workshop. This SNAG sponsored workshop is open to all
jewelers, including those who already own an Orion welder or for
those considering making a purchase of one. The workshop will be an
engaging and enjoyable way to learn more about Orion welders and how
to use them. Attendees will spend their time checking out different
models and putting them to thetest. They will learn more about
welding bezels, resizing rings, weldingdissimilar metals together,
repairing porosities, welding titanium, and how to re-tip prongs or
construct jewelry without soldering. This workshop will not only
include captivating demonstrations but will also feature one-on-one
assistance from Brett White from Orion Jewelry Welders, David
Alberts, and Ruthie Cohen of the Mountain Metalsmiths School of
Jewelry& Lapidary. Brett, David, and Ruthie will be delighted to
assist individuals while they work with a pulse arc welder. They
will also happily answer questions, show attendees their options for
welders, and help attendees decide what welder models would work
well with their work space and budget. Jewelers who attend are
encouraged to bring along projects they havebeen working on. The
Folk Art Center Auditorium will be holding this workshop Saturday,
September 6th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday, September 7th
from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This informative workshop will cost$300.00
to attend and a boxed lunch will be provided for only a $5.00 fee
per day. Workshop fees will be donated to SNAG and the Southern
HighlandCraft Guild to support their educational programs. A $50.00
deposit is required to hold your space. There will also be an
informal dinner gathering on Friday, September 5th at Asiana
Restaurant for those who wish to get together and just socialize.
