[Workshop] [LA] Orion Pulse Arc Welders

“Making Jewelry Magic with the Orion Pulse Arc Welders” Ruthie Cohen
and David Alberts recently participated in the Stuller Bench Jeweler
workshop in Lafayette, LA, where David spent 2 days putting the
Orion pulse arc welder through its paces with jewelers from all over
the country. The response was so positive, that the folks of Orion
have agreed to host the FIRST EVER Orion Welder workshop at the Folk
Art Center, headquarters of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, in
Asheville, NC and at the Mountain Metalsmiths School, Arden, NC on
June 22-23 at a cost of $110 per person. This workshop is open to
jewelers who already own an Orion welder and want to increase their
knowledge on how to use it, jewelers who are contemplating
purchasing one, or to jewelers who justwant to find out about it.

You will spend all day Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm at the Folk Art
Center, putting the welders through their paces and seeing what they
can do without the high cost of purchasing or maintaining a laser.
You will learn to repair porosities, re-tip prongs, weld dissimilar
metals together, weld bezels together, resize rings, and even weld
titanium along with other tasks. On Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm at the
Mountain Metalsmiths School in Arden, see an Orion in actionon a
jeweler’s bench. You will see how little space it takes up on a
single bench with possible options for a multi-bench set-up. David
and a rep from Orion will be here for the workshop to answer your
questions and tohelp you choose the correct model for your space. All
workshop fees are being donated to the Southern Highland Craft Guild
for their educational programs. Boxed lunches will be available at a
nominal feefor Saturday at the Folk Art Center. A $25 deposit is all
that is necessary to hold your space. For more please
