[Workshop] Chasing on three-dimensional forms

Hi everyone,

The Michigan Silversmiths Guild will be hosting a workshop titled
“Chasing On Three-Dimensional Forms with David Huang”. The workshop
will be held at Eastern Michigan University January 24 - 25, 2009.
Workshop registration forms and membership applications are
available on our website http://misilversmith.org

The main focus of this workshop will cover David Haung’s techniques
of chasing designs into copper vessels. Microcrystalline wax will be
used instead of the more traditional pitch. Pre-formed vessels will
be provided along with the chasing tools. Also, there will be a
discussion and demonstrations on the topics: making chasing tools
and patina techniques.

David Huang works full-time as a metalsmith producing decorative
hollowware vessels. David is a native and resident of western
Michigan. He graduated in 2001 from Grand Valley State University
with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in
metalsmithing. His work is currently represented by galleries across
the nation and has appeared in such publications as American Craft
and Metalsmith Magazine.
