Where to find little rubies

hello everybody!

can anyone tell me where to find small rubies, between 1mm and
1.75mm? i need them for eyes, and i can only find larger rubies among
my suppliers. thank you,

susannah

Hi Shawn,

As a custom gem cutter and certified crazy person I can tell you that
tin y stones are hard to come by because nobody wants to cut them that
size. On a retail basis the cutting fee is more than the stone is
worth. I ha ve been known to actually enjoy the little things in life
and could proba bly be persuaded to cut you some if that is of
interest to you.

Try Universal Merchandising Area Code 732-918-0992 / Don’t be thrown
off by the telephone voice mail just leave your name and number and
they will call you back. They are great
suppliers of fine jewelry wholesale and loose stones.

Susannah - I recently bought rubies in 1.25, 1.50 & 1.75 sizes from
Stuller in Lousianna. There phone number is: 800/877-7777 They have
extremely fast service and iIve always been pleased with the
quality of the stones. Good luck - Gini in Florida, USA

You can try Boston Gems and Findings in Boston, MA or James Alger Co.
in Manchester, NH. I can’t guarantee they will have it but they
might. Another possibility is East to West Imports also in Boston, MA

Here I go again, once more just go to www.riogrande .com and order
their Gems and Findings Catalog, the have Real Rubies both grade A &
AA Round from1.75 to 4mm they also carry lab made stones. In fact
there is very little you can’t find in 1 of their 3 catalogs. Best
news is that all 3 are free. Also they are a great information
source.Just call or E-mail them and they will either give you the
answer or where else you might try and get the info. you need. This
is also Free. Fire mountain Gems is another place you might want to
check, another Free Catalog , you can reach them at
www.firemountaingems.com, one more place is Tripps on-line at
www.tripps.con. I can’t remember if I had to pay for the first
catalog or not, but they send them to me every year. Hope this helps,

Norma
