What kind of digital camera are you using?

Vlad,

I have a D3100 that I’ve been using since August 2011. I suggest
getting a set if “close-up” filters that screw on the front of the
lens. This gives you more flexibility for shooting different size
objects, e.g., rings to cuff bracelets. About $50.

We use balanced LED lighting, A Nikon D-90 and a 105mm Macro. This
gives us room to pump light in from any angle and plenty close up
for details.

You need good equipment but I think technique is just about as
important.

Good Luck. Dan.

Hi David,

I use one of the wireless SD chips called Eye-fi. I LOVE it. So easy.
So convenient. Thought it would be a gadget (I love them too). But it
really streamlined the whole downloading process.
