What is the difference in these Smith Torches

What is the difference between the Smith Handi Heet (Ne35a) and the
Smith Silversmith Torch (239-193)? Is one better than the other for
Silversmithing? I have seen the Handi Heet reccommended in the
forum. I have sent an email to Smith but have not recieved a reply.

Thanks, Richard

The Handi Heet uses the same Smith handle and tips as the
Silversmith torch but the Handi Heet has a two stage regulator as
opposed to the Silversmith set has a single stage regulator. Either
one will do the job.

The Handi Heet will allow to build to a full acetylene/ propane or
oxygen set up. The Silversmith kit will not be able to upgraded to
add propane or oxygen. You would have to purchase a two stage
regulator which the Handy

Heet already has. That is the only difference in the two set ups is
the regulator.

You’d have trouble upgrading the Handi Heat to use both a fuel gas
AND oxygen, since this, like the silversmith torch, has only the
single fuel line. No place to add an oxygen hose…

But the dual stage regulator will give better performance.
