Sarah Amy Green
Bondi Junction, NSW. Australia

My name is Sarah Green and I am an aspriring jeweller currently in
the process of studying and working part time to reach my goal
career.

I like to work primarily in metal, exploring it’s capabilities and
limits, using it to express notions and ideas that confront, inspire
and make you think.

I am a hands-on person, I find enjoyment and calm in the making
process, especially enjoying the feeling of gratitude, relief and
accomplishment when a piece is finished.

I want to learn as much as possible and be exposed to a whole range
of making practises to one day find my specialisation in something
that gives me happiness and fulfillment.

It started about 2 years ago with a multi-week class in beading from
a professional jewelry maker. Beaded jewelry led to the discovery of
wire wrapping and metalsmithing. Over the last few months I’ve
started my own business to sell my designs and have become a student
at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. I hope to incorporate
metals into my beadwork and eventually, as I learn, switch the
emphasis to metalwork. One-of-a-kind pieces, inspired by an
interesting bead, or a shape inspired by almost anything I see, are
my motivators.

Hi, I’ve been taking lessons and making fabricated jewerly for about
10 years and still consider myself a rank amateur especially when I
see the incredible work and read the wealth of knowledge on this
site. It is a pleasure to join this group and learn from such
experienced and sharing people.

I’ve been a modelmaker for almost 30 years, and have found a great
medium to express my artistic tendencies while affording me the
ability to earn an income doing something I love. I have devoted my
services to the jewelry trade and have never had my own line of
jewelry, but that will soon change. I am in the process of creating
my own designs, but I will still be doing work for the industry.
