My wife and partner, Margaret Ostling, and I have been in business
as designer-goldsmiths since 1984. We have a retail store and
adjoining workshop/studio in a small resort town in Washington
State’s Cascade Mountain eastern foothills. We design and build 80%
to 90% our inventory, which is primarily of my partner’s designs. We
work in silver, gold, palladium and platinum. We do custom work. We
do repairs. Margaret was an AGTA Spectrum award winner in 1994, a
DeBeers Diamonds Today award winner in 1995, and a MJSA Vision award
winner in 1996, among others. More on our website on the “about us”
pages. Thank you.

im a Jewelry major at the university of umass dartmouth and it had
been suggested for me to join this forum to help me gather
for an award i am applying for, the Windgate Fellowship
Award. i want to figure out where i could get custom made pliers,
hammers. and any jewelry tool custom made for my hands with specific
types of grip because i have muscular dystrophy and regular tools
often are hard to handle and work with and if I win the award it is
a 15,000 award of which i need to create proposal to explain how i
would use the money. In order for me to explain my intentions i am
trying to figure out a budget and how many tools i could possibly
get to build a studio to better suit my physical needs. Thank you in
advance if anyone has an helpful !
