I have been designing, creating and selling jewelry for over 7 years
now, driven by my love of natural stones and using fine silver,
copper and bronze. In addition to my own business, Of This Earth
Jewelry, I help Beads in a Box, a fund-raising project of Community
Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska. I am located in Central Nebraska
where I live with my husband, four horse, my cats and my dog.

Greta Ruth Markert
Alan Rocca Fine Jewelry
Joliet, Illinois. USA

I work in a high end jewelry store that makes mostly custom jewelry.
I handle the QC work, pick stones needed for jobs, and price
inventory and custom pieces. I am interested in all types of stones
and metalurgy

Ruth A Crawford
Ravin’ jewelry
Dallas, PA. USA

I have been making jewelry for about 7 years, started selling about
2 years ago. Not really what I would call successfully. Have found
my love to be wire which I find fairly easy to grasp, and metal
which is having a rather steep learing curve. None of my results are
predictable, even though some are pleasing. I find that I get
insight from talking to other metalworkers and wire workiers.

A wild and crazy red head who loves the smell of the workshop, flux
and a hot torch. Jewelry making is a passion.

Edmonds, WA. USA

I am a third generation artist. My grandfather was a commercial
artist and illustrator for the American Can Company. Mother was a
small home town artist that specialized in portraits. I work mostly
with silver, creating jewelry from my experiences growing up and in
nature. I can draw and paint, but I prefer working with my hands and
using a torch.

I learn mostly from reading and doing. My father kept me away from
the girls by keeping me busy in the garage, working on cars, doing
home projects. So I know how to work with tools. Which has all been
beneficial when fabricating. I have degrees in Zoology and
Chemistry.

I checked the website of Greta’s company and was amazed by its
confidence inspiring subtext, plus its easy-to-read format and visual
simplicity. Plus fabulous jewels, which are the result of experience
and craft. Greta – if you see this message, is there any way you
might get permission to tell us what your company spent to set it up
and produce it? I teach a marketing class at Desert Gems in Lakewood,
in addition to being a silversmith, and am putting your web site
address in my class notes for students as an example of a really good
site. They will not be able to match it, nor will I, but its just a
great example of marketing, especially the short video.
