Hello Everyone,
I am Sonali Pratik Sheth, a jewellery designer based in Surat,
India. I have been in the field for 12 years now, and have been the
recipient of many honours including the Tahiti Pearl Trophy (Gold)
and the most prestigious award in the jewellery design field the De
Beers award by DTC and their scholarship tour to UK France and Italy
Equipped with a Graduate Gemologist Diploma (G.G) from GIA,
Carlsbad, USA and a 3yrs Diploma in Jewellery Design and Manufacture
from S.N.D.T Juhu, Mumbai, I started my career with freelance
projects for reputed Indian as well as international companies like
De Beers, Signity, Golay Buchel Siwtzerland, Dimexon, B.Vijaykumar
jewellers and Jaipur Jewels.
In 2003, I started Jewelsprings Design Centre, a design studio and
learning centre and have since then trained over a hundred students
in this field. Jewelsprings is the name synonymous with quality
training in Jewellery Design in the city of Surat and hence, the
Surat Chamber of Commerce have fel icitated me with their Women
Entrepreneur award.
I have always been updating my skills as a design professional by
taking specialized courses in CAD/CAM, jewellery repair, mass
production techniques and enameling. Over the years I have been
developing my expertise in the field of CAD/CAM.
Apart from teaching, I have also been designing under our company,
Sphere Diamond Jewellery, which is a joint venture with my brother
Premal Sudhir Shah. We run it in a boutique set up where people can
not only chose from our exclusive theme based collections but also
get something unique designed and custom made according to their
preferences and budgets. We specialize in Bridal & Mens Jewellery.
I experienced the real taste of success in my design journey when I
was selected to design the massive crowns of the idols of lord
Sahastrafanaa Parshwanath and lord Chintamaniji in the 500yr old
heritage jain temples in Surat. I guess I was chosen by God to
design for Him!
I truly believe in the Supreme Power "who is the greatest designer of
all " the creator of this wonderful world and the most beautiful
material within it, the diamond. As a designer I just try to unleash
that beauty in my designs and strongly feel that my job is complete
only when that beauty translates into joy for the wearer.
I live with my husband and twin daughters along with my parents-in
"law, in the city of diamonds, Surat. My father has been in the
diamond manufacturing business since 45 years. I feel blessed to
have my familys support in my endeavors.
