I have been a bench jeweler for about 25 years. I began out of
necessity to keep my new jewelry store open. My fresh out of college
goldsmith had a meltdown when she melted a hollow ring during sizing.
Since I had played a little with smithing, I remade the ring - solid
this time. Since then, I have continued to very painfully teach
myself all the techniques in crafting jewelry, learning as I tackled
each new job. I have always been fascinated by Faberge’, Cellini and
Cartier, and I’ve pored through all the literature I could find to
study their techniques. I have striven to execute my work in a
similar fashion to them. Any piece I craft is guided by what I have
learned from them. Since I’m a dinosaur to all the current computer
technology, it’s going to take a while to set up a website, but I
hope to share photos of my work soon.
