For the last three years I have been learning how to silversmith –
working obsessively at a battered jeweler’s bench in my apartment.
During the day I work for Desert Gems, a Lakewood, CO, bead and
mineral business. Once home I do repairs or custom silversmithing
for folks who visit the store.

My favorite activity is to learn everything I can about design. I
clip images from fashion magazines and study the work of artistic
jewelers every night. As a jeweler I specialize in making wry
narrative pieces that showcase Colorado gems. See my work at
www.made-by-angels.com. Adios.

I am new to metalsmithing wanting to learn much more. I am an artist
of many different types of media, long are quilter, sewing of all
kinds, I also make greeting cards. I have tried a little of
everything just ask my husband. I now am concentrating on jewelry
and glass. I had knee surgery this year and my studio is up stairs
which I can’t do anymore to much wear and tear on my knees so have
made my studio outside in my storage house. Where I have setup my
torch and jewelry workbench I have been making lampwork beads and
would like to learn new way of making them into jewelry art

I have been a lampwork beadmaker for years and now am learning some
basic metalworking techniques to showcase my glasswork. I am finding
that working in silver is a fascinating occupation and I would like
to learn as much as I can about this art form.
