Dancing With Nature Gardens & Arts

I’m a transplant from Belfast, Ireland now living in the central U.S.
I own a Nursery/Garden/Arts business and am a Master Gardener, Master
Herbalist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner. I am a
recently “retired” Refugee Specialist and had worked 18 years in
Africa (Rwanda, Congo, Mozambique, Uganda, etc.) with Oxfam and did
research for Amnesty International. Now my life is a wonderful mlange
of artwork, photography, freelance writing, and spending as much time
as possible outdoors. My family and I are vegans and grow most of our
own food, organically. In my metalwork and artwor k in general, I
find that my meditation practice as a Buddhist is an endless source
of inspiration.

Bonnie M Penner
Toronto, Ontario. Canada

I am currently a first year student at George Brown College in
Toronto, ON, Canada. I am in the jewellery Program. Though I have
entered school only this fall, jewellery has always been a part of my
life. My father and uncle were both bench jewellers and watchmakers.
My sister and two cousins are also in the industry. We have had
watchmakers, goldsmiths, designers, owners, retailers and
gemmologists in the family. I love working at my bench and often
wonder why I did not find this passion earlier in my life. I was a
high school math and science teacher before coming into the family
business as a second career choice. I love the sounds and smells of
the studio, they flood my mind with memories of my father working
hard at his bench.
