I am a painter and a small-scale sculptor.

I am a jewelry artist that combines metals with recycled 35mm film
negatives that have been altered into bright colors. By cutting,
folding, and shaping the material, I transform it into a reusable
resource that is unique, colorful and very lightweight to wear. I
also work with other film mediums such as slide film, and film
strips. I am exploring the use of reel film in my next phase of
jewelry making.

I enjoy designing one-of-a-kind jewelry items that are created from
hundreds of film negative pieces. I also have a production line of
jewelry too.

I received my BFA/Jewelry Metals from Kent State University in 2010,
although I was much older than ‘college age’ when I attended. My
creative vision allows me to see and transform everyday objects into
beautiful art.

Chris Kemp
Victoria, BC. Canada

I have been making Jewelry since 1991.

I have taken many courses over the years, in a wide variety of
jewelry making fields.

I have sold in stores, but it became too grinding, so I just made
for friends and family with a few consignment pieces, for many
years.

The time is now right in my life, to get back in the selling game. A
lot has changed, and I know that having a presence on social media
is a must now.

So, I started small, with a little earring store on Etsy. To have a
home base.

In actuality, making earrings is what I like to do least, so I am
working on launching a line of bracelets, when that get’s off the
ground, I’ll bring in necklaces.

I want all my pieces to have the same feel, and relate to each
other. Easier said than done.

So, that is me, all up to date.

The future is wide open!
