I am a mother of 3 children, retired from the USAF, and a LCSocial
Worker. I have always enjoyed creating things with my hands from
pottery to woodworking, embroidery and painting but in 2008 when I
lost my oldest son, Zachary, unexpectedly I lost my passion for
anything creative. A year ago, a friend gave me a wirewrapping kit-
this combined with my love of rocks and colored gemstones gave me a
part of myself back; I could enjoy something again. In the last year
I have learned everything I Could gather about wirewrapping, working
with different metals, soldering and love designing pattern metal
"wire". I consider myself a beginner, for the most part but am
finding my niche. I love that you can combine several techniques to
make unique jewelry and sculpture. Wire, sheet metals, and rocks
brought enjoyment, challenge, and new friendships in my life.

Have worked with metals since 1962. In the last 35 years I’ve been
involved with vitrious enamel on metal.Have done 4 tutorials on
torch fired enamels on the “Grains of Glass” enamel website. Several
of my pieces are posted on that site. My real job over the years was
doing restoration and replicas of artifacts in wood, clay, and metals
for museums and collectors. During lulls in my employment I’ve been
very involved making art in these various materials.I’m retired
since 2000 and work full time doing tutorials on enamels and
metalsmithing techniques as related to enamel and experimenting with
my own jewelry.Currently I’m doing torch fired enamel on repoussed
copper forms. I hope to post them soon.
