This is my third year taking jewelry courses in metalsmithing. I am
attempting to turn this into more than a hobby and be selling my
pieces locally by the end of this year. After spending the last 10
years raising my kids, this would be a change of careers for me. I
would like to intern with a professional in Manhattan or Westchester
so I can get more hands on experience. It’s been difficult finding
an instructor that is invested in my concepts as many of the classes
I take are quite large. I have now found an instructor in Park
Slope, Brooklyn who is a fantastic instructor (private) and can give
me the personal attention that I need to develop my line, and bring
my pieces to a perfect and sellable state. I am now working with
wax. I continually research on line and would love to connect with
other jewelers, particularly in Westchester, New York.
