I want to polish (?buff) one of my watches to restore its original
shiny luster (particularly the band) after years of wear. It is a
Breigtling with a steel and gold band (the gold is somehow plated
but thick). How would I best go about doing that? Or is it a big
mistake to try to do it myself (I am not a jeweler)?
If it’s plated, as most watches are, you’ll end up with a “not so
shiny white metal . … but, instead a brassy looking metal that may
cause skin problems!”
