Visiting Chicago jewelers

Hello everyone! I’ll be in Chicago April 5-7 and am interested in
visiting any jewelers, dealers or whatnot in the area. I’ll be
staying downtown so anywhere within walking distance of the W Hotel
would be preferred.

There’s not much in walking distance of the W hotel. You’ll need to
cab it or take the El to Jeweler’s Row, which is on Wabash Ave.
between Washington and Monroe, if I’ve got my streets in the right
order.

That’s the main area. There are also additional offices and shops on
Michigan Avenue and other nearby areas.

Hard to Find Tools for Metal Clay

Hello, All;

I am a native Chicagoan, and although I haven’t lived there in 30
years (time does fly)! I love to hit a few of my favorite jewelry
galleries off North Michigan Avenue when I am in town. Between
Michigan (around the 700 block) and North Rush on Walton and
Delaware there are several great little shops that carry wonderful
work. One carries Niessing and other pieces of that style and I seem
to recall one other in that area as well. Sorry but I cannot recall
their names. And of course there is George Jensen across the street
on Michigan which usually has some of their classic designs. Farther
South on Michigan is Bulgari and nearby is Cartier.

The Maller’s Building on Wabash as Elaine Luther mentioned, is the
more commercial building. My engagement ring was purchased there
some 35 years ago. If you do go to the Maller’s Building, do hit the
coffee shop which the best motzoh ball soup ever!

Have fun!
