Vacuum Casting tips for a noob?

I think I’ve decided on getting a Vacuum casting setup for a perforated flask size of 3.5"x4". I probably will only start casting 1 or 2 pieces of jewelry at a time until I can get more business. Mostly Sterling Silver to start and both filigree and heavier designs.

What are some tips you wish you knew about Vacuum Casting when you started? Metal temps (Fahrenheit)? Flask Temps?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

For standard casting 1mm is the thinnest I cast . Any thinner and it will often fail.
Temp and metal temp is important.
Proper spruing is critical.
