Is there any way to get the matrics off of the topaz from Utah? Is it
good for jewelry?

What are you going to do with it? Make it into a cab, or have it
faceted?
Depends on the host rock/matrix it is found with if it would be good
to incorporate it into a gem stone.
Most Utah topaz will be clear to very weak colored yellow. It is not
going to be the pretty colors of other topaz you see in Jewelry.
Utah has very unique You can find several only in very
small deposits. There is satin flash opal, tiffany stone, bixbite,
picasso marble, lots of dino bone, and dino poop. Yet the state stone
is topaz.
