Using "tested" silver for casting

If I’ve tested a piece of silver with nitric acid, can the portion
that came in contact with the acid be used in scrap for casting?

Yes.

In short, yes. The acid will have dissolved away a small portion of
the metal but wont have changed the composition of what remains to
any significant degree.
