Using polymer clay for ring shanks

Even after baking/curing, a ring shank made from polymer clay can
still be easily broken. Are there any liquids that can be painted on
to make it very hard to break? Texture hardeners? Which ones if any?

Thanks!
Suzanna

You can purchase sterling ring blanks that can act as an armature.
The temperature you use for the clay will not effect the sterling. I
do this with PMC for rings or make one out of sterling wire. Hope it
works for you.

Thanks Linda! I’ve also just heard from Lisa Pavelkaa That she uses
Pardo Jewelry Clay which uses beeswax instead of a plasticizer!
Awesome, huh? You can get this at hobby lobby too.
