I have been following this thread off and on for a good while now.
Forgive me if this has already been suggested, but to me it seems
that the only symbol that universally conveys a faith in anything
beyond our physical existence is the symbol for infinity. That
sideways "8" means the same thing in every culture and every
religion - infinite; without end; everlasting; eternal; forever. If
these concepts don't embody whatever universal faith there might be,
I don't know what does.
