Tucson

Speaking of Tucson…

When I was there, I was wondering just who were my fellow Orchidians
walking amongst myself ( Orchidians…is that the correct word to use
here?) =)

Can we establish some sort of identification with one another so we
can greet one another? I read earlier where someone mentioned an
orchid nametag…

Any ideas? I plan on going again next year and I don’t want to miss
out on meeting any of you. If you don’t like meeting people, simply
choose not to wear the tag. Avoid my handshake/hug…HA!

Hello Pepr,

Hanuman posted the official Orchid logo a few months ago, and Ahmed

Shareek from Sri Lanka had 50 recognition pins made to give away from
his booth. He ran out. I wore mine every day, but don’t recall
anyone making her/himself known. Of course, I have to admit that I
wasn’t looking at other people much … the plethora of stones,
ideas, components, etc. captured my full attention. As Teresa Masters
said, the Orchid dinner was great! Dave Arens was the very gracious
host, who deserves out thanks. Everyone listened as each self
introduction was made; I’m sort of a people person, and I really
enjoyed putting faces to the names I’ve seen so often on Orchid.
Much to my disappointment, I didn’t get to ask Etienne how his
amazing earring was secured, and if it was comfortable to wear!
Charles Lewton-Brain told us about the amazing selflessness of
Hanuman/Dr.Aspler in maintaining Orchid in the years since its
inception. It is important that EACH of us assist financially - even
a modest amount like US$25 would allow full development of the vision
held for Orchid. I usually create one design each year to be my
standing charitable contribution. The selling price of the next one
goes to Orchid. Here’s the message as Hanuman posted:

Contributions can be send over to me as personal checks or Cashier’s
checks payable to dr. e. aspler. my address is:

Bottom line - plan to attend the Orchid dinner in Tucson. That's

how you will make contact with the most Orchidians. Judy in Kansas,
where the Feb 9th winter storm shut every thing down - EVEN the
university! We dug out and today the snow should start melting off.

Hi All, I think it might be a nice idea for the Orchid members who
will be showing in Tucson to post their names and locations. I
leave Tucson on the 8th and so will miss the dinner, but I would
certainly like the opportunity to stop by and see other Orchidians.

I called my hotel in Tucson yesterday and while I was speaking with
them I asked about the weather. It’s not as warm as I thought it
would be. Betty Dr. E. Hanuman Aspler
