I am looking for a master jeweller/trainer/mentor in or near the Toronto, Canada area. I can drive to them or they can come to my own studio so I can learn within the context of my environment and tools.
I self-taught myself for the last year, I know all the basics. Then I followed up with high jewellery training in Italy for about three months and have produced a few 18k gold pieces and have a couple of custom clients. I am working on a new collection to be launched by the end of the year.
I’d like to find a master fine jeweller who I can learn from. Ideally someone I can show what I’ve worked on in the past week and get feedback on how to improve, be more efficient, and anything I may have missed. There may be some stupid questions in the mix. My schedule is super flexible and I’m happy to pay for their time. I work diligently and am easily coached.
I prefer these sorts of arrangements because I have found that I grow a lot faster with 1:1 relationships than in group settings. Clearly doing this in-person would be ideal but I’m also open to remote arrangements.
