I have been approached twice this year about donating jewelry for
auctions–both times I was offered a percentage of the auction price
and allowed to set my own minimum bid. This seemed wonderful to
me–do other organizations not do this? I also was offered a chance
to help the local schools by donating a percentage of all work sold
during a fundraiser month, with my business promoted to everyone who
is also trying to “Save Class Size Reduction.” In a situation like
this, taxes seem like a superfluous issue…no?
