Tongue bezel setting

Hi all,

I would like to set in silver a tongue shaped cabochon or a flat
half disk shaped cab, and I am having a lot of trouble finding out
how to make the bezel setting for such. Anyone have some ideas? I
read somewhere about making a setting with a wire soldered inside
the bezel to catch and lock in a groove on the stone, but my stone
has no such groove. Thanks for any ideas. -

It’s not necessary to solder a wire into the bezel as long as you
have a snug fitting bezel and some good cement. If you want to
though, you can groove the stone with a separating disc.
