Bud Collins who is a tennis commentator coined the "tennis bracelet"
phrase. It happened during a U. S.Open tournament when Chris Evert
stopped her serve to retrieve something off the court. As the camera
panned in, Bud said something to the effect of “look at that,
Chrissie’s tennis bracelet must have come off, and she won’t
