Titanium and niobium dust - toxic?

When hand-working titanium and niobium sheet using emery paper dry and
working about 9" from (unmasked) face, are the resultant fine
particles (metal dust) toxic to inhale or ingest in any other way? I
have a worker who has voiced a concern about this.

Hi Brian,

I’d give a call to Bill Seeley at Reactive Metals Studio in AZ.
As far as I know, he’s the foremost expert on the materials.
