[Tidbits] Chimera

A fearful creature…she was she was…with a breath of unquenchable
flame as she vomited fire. She had the head of a lion and the tail of
a serpent and the body of a shegoat. She was great and swift and
strong. Oh woe upon thems what comes too close to her fearful
inferno… unless of course you’re up for a barbecue and have a long
pole upon which you hold that which you want seared with monster
breath.

In mythology…the Chimera belongs to that family of composite beasts
such as the Unicorn and the Sphinx and the Basilisk. Alas…it does
not exist today because it was killed by a chap named Bellepheron who
rode that winged horse Pegasus and slew the creature with arrows shot
from the skies. For those of you out there dying to know why
Bellepheron would kill such a beast rather than let her live on so
that future generations…such as ours…might enjoy the sight of her
at a zoo somewhere…well…it starts and ends with a woman’s
unrequited love… and hell has no fury as that of a woman
scorned…and the jealous husband of said woman sending Bellepheron
out on tasks which he thought would surely kill him.

However…fear not lads and lassies…for I…Benjamin Mark… owner
of TylerAdam…seller of fine jewelry (note the subliminal plug here
folks) bring you a graphic of a bejeweled version of our fabulous
monster. Oh what a sight she is indeed. With outspread wings of old
minecut diamonds and a cabochon ruby eye with more ruby accents and
more old minecut diamonds…she perches majestic on foliage while
readying herself for another blast of flames which will cause
Vesuvius herself to cringe in fear and cease her eruptions.

There exists in this muddled world of ours those skeptics who would
have you believe that the Chimera never existed. Its very
impossibility they sayattests to the fact that it never existed.
They said the same of the duckbilled platypus…and we all know how
that ended. But that aside…so strong was the influence of these
skeptics…that today the adjective "chimerical"taken from the
Chimerarefers to foolish and unrealistic notions.

Go figure…and pity those nonbelievers…and think of what they
miss by not accepting the fantastical. Did I mention that the
bejeweled monster is worth around $30,000.00. No idea of total amount
of diamonds or rubies. No idea of the creature’s creator. Only thing I
know is…it’s a stunner. Go take a look.

For those of you who are new to this thing called Tidbits…may I
direct you to my home page at www.tyleradam.com where you will
scroll down the table menu till you get to the box that says
Tidbits…and inside the box where it says Tidbit Graphics…click on
the link that says: Chimera…where you will see a graphic of our
monster.

And there ya have it. That’s it for this week folks. Catch you all next
week. Benjamin Mark
