Hi Guys and Gals, It’s been many years since I have posted here. I got very Busy with RaceCar Jewelry Co inc. Just wanted to let everyone know that I am teaching a 3 day course at metalwerx in Waltham Mass. This is a “hands on” course. We will be discussing models that students will bring in and explain what works and what will be problematic to produce. Students will make at least 1 Mold out of Vulcanized ,Heat cured high strength silicone rubber ,then Inject waxes into the molds, Tree up the waxes for casting, Invest and burn out overnight , Cast in deox Sterling silver and in Bronze and do some sprue removal and cleanup of the castings. Small rings, earrings, pendants and charms would be ideal. Larger Items can be brought in for discussion, but might not be able to cast the larger items due to the size of the oven and other equipment. We can also discuss printing in resin and wax for direct casting into metal. RaceCar Jewelry has been printing and casting for 15 years . Looking forward to meeting all of you at metalwerx [ Mold Making and Casting!]

Hello Orchidland,
Just an encouraging word to take Dan Grandi’s (Metalcaster) course on casting at Metal werx. Dan is so knowledgeable about casting and has been at it for decades. What he has done for me is perfect!
If I were younger, I’d be taking his course. Sigh. All the best Dan.
Judy in Kansas, where tornadoes were dancing around last night, but since it was dark I couldn’t see anything. The rain was welcome though.
Metalwerx is a great outfit Daniel , sounds like they chose the right guy to teach the right class. If I could I’d be right there.
Thank you Judy ! Stay away from those Tornando’s.
Hi Paul,
I have taught there a number of times. It’s a great place to teach at.
