Tarnished Argentium

While some may be bad, do not believe everything you reed/see as the messenger might have an agenda.

Most of the electronic bought in Europe and the US are produced in China and a lot of other products.

There are lots of unsubstantiated concerns about items from China. While there is some truth to issues with goods that are not what they are supposed to be, there is also a significant amount of unfounded rumor. The idea that costume jewelry is contaminated with radioactive metals is one of those with no reported cases. One of the few cases radioactive jewelry ever reported was actually gold jewelry made here in the USA. During the 1930s and 1940s, gold “brachytherapy seeds” (used in cancer treatment and containing radon-222) were illegally melted down and mixed with uncontaminated gold to manufacture jewelry. There certainly have been consumer goods contaminated with radioactive materials. Mostly, this has been from medical treatment equipment that was not properly disposed of, entered the scrap metal markets, and was made into steel products. The idea that costume jewelry is contaminated with radioactive materials is an urban legend with no documented cases that I could find. So while it is not impossible, it seems very doubtful.

There is a real issue with hazardous costume jewelry. Cadmium is used to formulate alloys for producing costume jewelry in countries that lack regulations or enforcement of consumer safety issues. This is a very common problem with imported costume jewelry. Lead content is also a problem with some alloys used in costume jewelry.
