I have been asked by a friend if I know of a sword making
school. Does anyone know if such a thing exists? Or how does
someone learn this craft? Any would be helpful.

I don’t know of a school per say, but there are a lot of fine
sword makers affiliated with the Society for Creative Anachronism
(SCA). I haven’t really been in touch with anyone in the SCA for
a while, but the Craftspeople involved are usually more than
willing to teach their arts to other just to keep them alive.

check with ed haligan in sharpsville,Ga. he is an expert sword
maker for an order of knights like the Knights Templer. sorry i
do not have his phone no. he is also a member of The American
Blacksmith society, which puts on schools to make cutlery.
There’s a knife making list on OneList I believe. Perhaps the
folks there would know about schools for sword making. Let me
look…
My fiance joined it recently and is very impressed by it,
something he usually is not about mailing lists.
