Super glue & wax

Thanks to all who answered my super glue questions. I was
glueing three wires next to each other onto a ring shank and then
wrapping two more around the shank at the ends so it was not too
difficult to avoid having the glue show. I also had used a graver
to cut a recess for the wire to sit in.

All this because the mounting in Stuller was .5mm wider than the
customer wanted. Picky, pick, picky! It seems they always see
something that it exactly what they are looking for, except…

Just once I would like to order a mounting, pop a stone in and
hand it to a customer without having to modify it first. If I
could do that a few times I might actually find time to work on
my own designs.

Sorry for the compliaining. Makes you feel better sometimes.

Have a great day!!

Sharon:

On the custom work on the mounting, I would think the customer
ought to choose the stock mounting or pay for your custom wax
work and casting fees. Then you wouldn’t feel so bad about having
to do it.

Thanks, I did price the piece based on my fees for carving and
the bench work. Just wish I had a little more time to be
creative. I’m determined that by the time things slow down next
summer I’m going to be soooo organized that I’ll have lots of
time to work on my own creations. (sound familiar?)
