Why is it that whenever I strip 9 carat that the solder joints
turn grey?

Why is it that whenever I strip 9 carat that the solder joints turn grey?
hi andrew, whatever (tin, zinc cadmium, indium, or ???)is in the
solder that makes it solder as opposed to alloy is more reactive
to the acids or cyanides you are using to strip. i use sparex as
a pickle and it will actually degenerate (eat) the 10k solder
joint. sooo, i just use 14k solder instead. best regards, geo fax
