Spray etchers?

Does anyone know where to buy a spray etcher or where to get the
plans to build one? I heard at one time that SNAG had them but when
I asked the person in the archives, she was not familiar with them.
( BTW, they have a nice rental service)

The commercial ones are pricey. Very pricey. (thousands). but I
believe it was Linda Threadgill who (?) designed a build it yourself
version that was perhaps published in an early metalsmith magazine,
or maybe even a goldsmiths journal (the predecessor to metalsmith) I
don’t recall exactly when. Early to mid '80s, I think. Those who
took her photoetching workshops got the plans, too, of course, so if
you can find someone who’s taken one of her workshops… SNAG never
has sold equipment of any sort. They’ve got a book service, and
publish metalsmith. But outside of the tool auctions run during the
converences, I don’t think they’ve ever sold or brokered, etc,
actual equipment.
