[Source] Ultrisonic drill

hi, please, i need to drill into gems to make into beads. dose any
one know where i can buy a ultrasonic drill? i have been using
diamond bits and find it very slow creating water log fingers and
carpotunnel syndrome. thank you t.c.

Hi Tony,

I have a USD 150C Imahashi ultrasonic which has proved very
effective, the units are quite expensive, however they are
exceptionally well engineered and extraordinarily precise.

No relationship with them, just a very satisfied customer.

But be prepared to pay $28,000 to $37,000. If anyone has a cheaper
source I would love to know about it.

The man who once owned “Contempo Lapidary” is now selling ultrasonic
drills. As I remember the base price for one model was abot $1800. He
has models that cost more; depending on the power of the unit. He has
been at Tucson across from Alpha Supplies the last couple of years.

There are others who post to Orchid that really know ultrasonics.
I’ve only been toying with the idea of getting one.

The Japanese ultrasonics must be amazing machines at that price, but
they produce a great product.

Rick, i don’t know the price of these nowadays, but they are more
like 1/4 what you say, I believe:
