[Source] Tagua Nut supplier?

Orchid is looking so fine these days. Congrats for all the hard
work.

I am looking for a supplier of tagua nuts and any other info on
working with them. I have searched and read the archives but much of
the info is no longer valid or missing.

Thanks,
Carla

I know that the Silver Armadillo in Asheville, NC sells them. I have
three that I got there a few months ago that are waiting for me to
do something to them.

You might try asking for advice on thecarvingpath.net’s forums if
you are wanting to either carve or cut them.

Hello

You can find Tagua nuts by the pound with a woodworking tool
supplier called Lee Valley It is a canadian company but they have a
headquarter in the states. In Canada we pay 10$ for a pound which
contains about ten nuts. Good deal I found… Check out their site
leevalley.com

Now a question I have: is there a good way to saw tagua nuts with a
hand tool. I do it with a machine but I would love to do it by hand.

Thanks in advance
Louis

Try using a Japanese saw with fine teeth.

I bought some tagua nuts in several colors a few months ago from

W.Bedoya Import Co, 56-01 Nurge Ave, Maspeth, NY 11378. Phone

A Canadian company - sold by the pound.

I once bought some from a local Woodcraft store. I don’t see them on
their website, so store inventory may vary from one to the other.

Good luck!
