[Source] Synthetic Pink Star Sapphire

I have a request from a customer for a star sapphire in pink or
lavender. As far as I can tell, star sapphires are naturally only
available in black, blue, grey or ruby reds. Also, cost is a bit of a
factor as well.

So, I’m looking for a source for a synthetic pink or lavender star
sapphire cab about 12x10mm if possible. If I can’t find one of those
colors, she’ll go with the synthetic star ruby available from Rio
Grande.

Thank you!

Natural star sapphires are available in all colors sapphires come in
which includes pink (although often pink stones are called ruby) and
purple. I have sold and owned a number of purple star sapphires over
the years. Check with Boston Gems and Findings or check the AGTA
source book and call a few of the suppliers listed under sapphire.

I have several star sapphires and star rubies that fit your picture,
you sail nothing about size but my largest is a calibrated 8x6mm.
the cost is around $600 per stone, that appraisal was done in the
early 80’s and they have the prices marked on their appraisal cards.
I am not asking for current rates, only the price stated on the
evaluation. most likely shri lankan stones.
