I might give Hephaestus a run for his money in the looks dept :-) 

Hephaestus was also the husband of Demeter, lame and considered
not very attractive. Greek mythology is one of my favorite studies.

This is not a comment on Jim Binnion who I’ve known as a congenial,
helpful, knowledgeable person for about 30 years or thereabouts, if
memory serves.

That was my point. It sounds great to be compared to a Greek god–
but of course whether it is really a compliment depends on which
one. I’m pretty sure that was more or less the point Jim was making
too, at his own expense.

It reminds me of one of my late mother-in-law’s favorite
“compliments”. She would say, “That head is not for two legs”. That
could mean you were smart enough for two people-- or maybe you were
smart enough for one four-legged creature. Not sure whether it was an
original, or whether it is a Serbian saying, but she loved double
entendres.
