Hello, I am wondering if any of my fellow Orchidians specialize in
heraldic gemstone carving of signet rings. I have a client/friend
who needs a ring made with his family seal carved into the stone as
a gift for his elderly grandmother. He was preparing to send the
design to Dexter’s in England, which specializes in this. Has any
one worked with this company? I thought it was strange that their
quote was for 9k gold. Is this typical? The work on their Web site
http://www.sealengraving.com/index.html looks of good quality, but I
thought that there may be someone in the US and someone who is a
member of Orchid who specialized in this as well. Please e-mail me
off list if you have any recommendations on a US heraldic engraver.
