[Source] Copper & sterling tubing

Where can I order tubing that is 1 mm and smaller? I need copper &
sterling. Also, is it measured by the inside or the outside
diameter?

Thank you,
Rebecca

Order larger tube and pull it down with a draw plate. Wall thickness
will go up but it is possible to do such small stuff without a draw
bench. It is also relatively simple to make your own tube from sheet.

For heavy wall copper look also for fridge capillary tube, although
you might have to buy 25 foot+ rolls. (HVAC type places, maybe even
close to free for short off cut pieces from a service tech)

In my experience the dimensions are usually outside, it gets tricky
to measure little ID dimensions, not impossible but you need a little
creativity.

Tubing is measured by it’s inside diameter.

You maybe able to find small copper tubing at the hardware store or
a store that sells parts for model trains, airplanes etc.

Sterling & other precious metal tubing may have to be purchase from
a refiner like Hauser and Miller (hauserandmiller.com) or Hoover and
Strong (hooverandstrong.com).
